Description:The Physicist works independently to provide medical physics and oversees dosimetry services. The Radiation Therapy center provides cutting edge radiation therapy treatments equipped with a Varian 21iX, 2100C, and a GE CT scanner. The Physicist also performs linac and CT scanner quality assurance, supervises a full time dosimetrist, performs some 3D conformal, VMAT, IMRT and SBRT treatment planning, conducts weekly chart checks, and equipment quality assurance. The Radiation Therapy center includes a radiation oncologist, dosimetrist, and five radiation therapists treating approximately 25 patients per day.
Qualifications: Masters degree in physics, medical physics, biophysics, or radiological physics, with specialized training in radiation therapy physics. Two years experience working in a radiation oncology department with responsibilities in radiation therapy physics including machine calibration and quality assurance, dosimetry, treatment planning, and patient simulation preferred.
